With the special edition release of Xidia Gold, players can battle their way through Xidia once again. Xidia: The Escape is an alternate storyline that begins seconds after Jones climbs onboard the dropship at the end of Xidia. In The Escape, you play as the sole surviving member of the Liandri mining staff, Morgan Spencer. As Spencer, you have to make your way back to Xidia's mining district from the opposite route taken by Jones. Made as more of a encore to the main storyline, The Escape is notable for introducing Skaarj Ice themed level made by Hourences, the first of its kind ever to appear. It is also notable for containing a more interesting narrative than The Xidia Incident.
With the release of Residual Decay, players will be glad to know that many elements introduced in The Escape have survived for the return to Xidia seen in the course of the final episode of the Jones trilogy.

Morgan Spencer
A plucky young miner who is known for his brash attitude and foul mouth, Spencer is the alternate protagonist in Xidia: The Escape. Unlike Jones, who is a trained military operative, Spencer has to rely on inexperience and pure adrenaline to make it to safety. | 
Lt. Cray
Another USM operative that survived the initial ambush along with Jones, Lt.Cray leads Spencer through the hordes of Skaarj through a PDA interface and intercoms. Cray claims to have an alternative way off the planet and guides Spencer to his location through the course of The Escape.
